Overview
Qee'an Al-Dhikr (قِيعَانُ الذِّكْرِ) is an offline-first application designed to help you track your daily dhikr (remembrance of Allah). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your data remains secure and private.
Data Collection
What We Collect
- No personal data is collected by this application
- No tracking or analytics are used
- No third-party services are integrated
- No internet connection is required for core functionality
What We Store
All data is stored locally on your device:
- Your dhikr counts and progress
- Custom dhikr you create
- Your habits and their completion records
- Your settings and preferences, including reminder choices
- Your chosen prayer-time location (city or coarse coordinates), if you set one
- Your badges, goals, and consistency records
- Reminder completion and missed-item flags (used so notifications stay silent once you've done your wird, and so missed items surface in the evening summary)
- Reminder timing patterns learned from your completions (used to nudge you at times you actually respond)
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it. On Android, if you have device backup enabled in your system settings, the OS may keep an encrypted Auto Backup of the app's data in your Google account — this is controlled entirely by your device settings, not by the app.
Data Usage
Offline Usage
- All counting and tracking happens entirely offline
- No data is transmitted to any server
- No cloud synchronization
- No account or sign-up required
Export/Import
- You may choose to export your data as a JSON file
- Exported data is stored only on your device
- You are responsible for the security of exported files
- Import functionality allows you to restore your data from a JSON file
Data Security
- All data is stored using IndexedDB (browser storage) or local database (Android)
- No encryption is applied to local storage (device-level security protects your data)
- We do not have access to your data
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone
Location (optional)
If you enable prayer-time-based adhkar times, the app requests your approximate (coarse) location once, or lets you pick a city manually. The coordinates are used only on your device to calculate prayer times locally — your location is never transmitted, shared, or stored anywhere off your device.
Android Permissions
The Android version declares the following permissions:
- ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: For approximate location, used only on-device to calculate prayer times for adhkar windows and reminders (optional — you can also pick a city manually)
- VIBRATE: For haptic feedback when tapping
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: For reminder notifications (requested only when you enable a reminder)
- SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: For precise reminder times (optional, user-controlled)
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: To restore reminders after your device restarts
- REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS: To ensure reminders fire reliably (optional, user-controlled)
- INTERNET: Required by the app shell — no data is ever sent or received; the app works fully offline
Reminder-related permissions are only used when you enable the corresponding feature in Settings.
Children's Privacy
This app is suitable for users of all ages. We do not collect any personal information from children or any users.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted in this document with an updated revision date.
